Do you price your products for international currencies?

All prices shown are in U.S. Dollars.

Do you charge sales tax?

We must charge 5.5% sales tax on all orders within the state of Maine. However, all coffees and teas are non-taxable items. No sales tax will be charged to orders placed outside of Maine.

What types of payment do you accept?

We are able to accept the following forms of payment (unfortunately we cannot accept C.O.D. orders):

Credit Cards: We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express for order payment. Orders are not charged until they are ready to ship. Our charge will appear on you credit card statement as “Coffee By Design”

Check or Money Order: If you choose to mail your order to us, you may pay by personal check or money order (as well as by credit card). Please do not send cash! All payments must be in U.S. Dollars and payable to “Coffee By Design, Inc.”

You will be charged $25.00 for any check that is bounced or rejected. We cannot be responsible for late, lost, or misdirected mail. We suggest you request a proof of delivery. Once we receive your mailed payment and it has been authorized (this process can take up to 21 days for personal checks), we will ship your order.

How do I redeem a CBD gift card?

CBD has gift cards for both online and in-store purchases. Our in-store gift cards will not work online and vice versa. You can redeem your online gift card during the checkout process on our website. The value of your card will be applied to the total value of your shopping cart.

Placing an Order
How long will it take to ship and receive my order?

Because all of our coffee is roasted to order, please note that it can take up to 48 hours to roast and package your coffee before shipping. We will ship all orders within two business days of your placing the order with Coffee By Design. Orders placed on Saturday and Sunday will be shipped no later than the following Wednesday. All domestic orders can be shipped by UPS or USPS.

Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and any U.S. Territory require an additional delivery time and charge.

Free Shipping only applies to orders shipped within the Contiguous 48 States. We exclude Alaska, Hawaii, and any U.S. Territory from free shipping. If you select "Free Shipping" for your order, we’ll send it using either USPS or UPS Ground at our discretion.

Delivery times with UPS and USPS vary per payment method:

Can I place my order by phone?

After completing the order form, either print the form or have it on your computer screen when you are ready to call. To place your order, simply dial 1-877-887- JAVA (5282) ext. 201 from any location within the United States or Canada. We are open and answering calls Monday – Friday 8AM–3:30PM Eastern Time.

Can I place my order by postal mail?

If you prefer to pay by money order or personal check, you can mail your order to us. After printing the order form, complete it and mail your order to us at:

Can I cancel my order?

We make every effort to ship your order as quickly as possible—usually within 48 hours. If you contact us before your order has shipped, we will be more than happy to change or cancel your order.

What is your return and refund policy?

We want you to be happy with your order, but we understand that it may be necessary for you to return your order. If you’re not pleased with your purchase, you may return your order for refund or replacement within 30 days of the date that your order was delivered. Simply call our Mail Order Department within the 30-day guarantee period to obtain a return authorization number. Your return must be accompanied by the original packing slip (or a copy) and must include your return authorization number. Shipping and handling charges are not refundable. You may want to insure your return and/or ship it in a trackable fashion; we cannot be responsible for lost or misdirected returns. Coffee By Design is not responsible for shipping costs associated with returning an item. All shipping costs will be assumed by the customer.

What is your policy on collecting customer information?

We collect customer information in an effort to improve our products and our website. We recognize our responsibility to maintain, protect, and use customer information responsibly and securely. We may use customer information for marketing and promotional purposes. If you would like to make sure that we do not sell or rent information about you to third parties, simply check the box indicating so on your order form.

How do you ensure that my personal data is secure?

Your payment and personal information are always safe. Our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read over the internet.
